HOW I CAN HELP
Whatever you’re carrying right now
Something isn’t right – and you know it. Most people don’t arrive at counselling with a clear diagnosis. They arrive exhausted, stuck, or carrying something they can’t quite name:
01
Stress & burnout
You're managing everything for everyone else. You're capable, you keep going - but somewhere along the way you've lost yourself. The exhaustion has become the background noise of your life.

02
Low mood
Feeling flat, disconnected or down. It's not always dramatic. Sometimes it's just that colour has drained from things. You go through the motions. You don't feel bad exactly - you just don't feel much at all.

03
Relationships
Patterns that keep repeating, or connection that's faded. The same arguments. The same feeling of not being understood by the people who should know you best. You want things to be different but where to start? Help with relationships
04
Life transitions
Change that's left you unsure of who you are now. A new job. A relationship ending. Moving somewhere new. Becoming a parent. Getting older. Even chosen change can bring grief and loss.

05
Anxiety and overwhelm
The worry that won't quiet down, however hard you try. Difficulty concentrating. Lying awake with your thoughts. The feeling that you're always one thing away from everything becoming too much.

06
Trauma
Experiences that happened some time ago are still affecting what happens in the on the present. You react in ways that don't make sense, or you carry a weight you can't quite put down.

HOW COUNSELLING HELPS
You don’t need to have it figured out before you begin.
Counselling isn’t about being given answers. It’s about having a space where you can think more clearly – where someone is paying real attention and helping you understand what’s actually going on.
Most people find that the things they come in with aren’t quite what the work end sup being about. That’s normal. We follow what matters.
Practical and relational
Practical and relational
We can work with practical tools to understand thoughts and behaviour (CBT), explore the roots of patterns (Transactional Analysis), or simply be alongside you in what's difficult (person-centred work). Usually it's a combination of all three.
No long-term commitment required. Single session therapy is available for people who want focused, immediate support without signing up to ongoing therapy. One session, properly prepared for, can move things further than you'd expect.
You set the pace
No fixed agenda. Sessions move at the speed that feels right - and the number of sessions is reviewed regularly, not fixed in advance.
ABOUT GRAZYNA

Grazyna Gwarek BACP Registered Integrative Counsellor · Manchester & online
I became a counsellor because I know what it is to feel stuck – and what it is to find a way through. Before training, I spent more than twenty years working in adult education and healthcare, where I saw daily what happens when people carry too much for too long, and what becomes possible when they don’t have to do it alone.
I use an integrative approach, drawing on Person-Centred Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, and Transactional Analysis – whatever combination is most useful for you, at each stage of the work. I ask a lot of questions: partly to understand you better, and partly because hearing yourself answer them out loud is often where things start to shift.

Therapy in Polish
Terapia po polsku
Online · In-person
I offer sessions in both English and Polish. For clients whose first language is Polish, or who feel that some things can only be said in the language they grew up with, this can make a real difference — not just to comfort, but to the depth of the work itself. As a Polish-speaking therapist in Manchester with lived experience of immigration and navigating life between two cultures, I understand the particular pressures that brings: the isolation, the family dynamics that cross borders, the difficulty of finding the right words in a second language for something that already has no easy words. Sessions are available online across the UK — and terapia po polsku is available wherever you are.
